  • What do we need to bring?

    ● Food: We recommend you bring your dog their own food but you have the option to purchase food from LCK at an additional daily cost.

    ● We encourage you to bring a dog bed and/or blanket to make your dog feel comfortable while at LCK.

    ● We ask that you bring a tagged collar, however, there will be collars for rent ($3/day). Choke chains or prongs are not usable collars. Please have your dog leashed when coming and going from LCK.

    ● Pack any medications or supplements that your dog takes at home. Write a list of clear instructions that will help the staff distribute the medications safely and on time.

    ● Do not bring your own kennel!

    ● We are not responsible for damages that may incur to the items that you bring.

  • Injury and Illness:

Dogs that have been ill within the past 14 days cannot attend Layke’s Country Kennels.

    ● If a dog appears ill, the owner will be contacted and asked to pick up their dog immediately. If necessary, the ill dog will be quarantined from all other dogs in attendance at Layke’s Country Kennels. In the event of an emergency, dogs in the care of Layke’s Country Kennels will be taken to the nearest available veterinary clinic. Should veterinary care be required, the owner will be responsible for all related expenses and fees that occur as a result.

    ● Your signature below authorizes, in your absence, transportation and treatment as deemed best by veterinary staff. As the owner, you will be responsible for all associated expenses and will be billed directly by the veterinary clinic.

    ● The dog owner will be charged $75/hour for any emergency or after hours transportation, pick ups, or drop offs.

While Layke’s Country Kennels is committed to preventing injury and illness at the facility, choosing to board your dog poses the following potential risks:

    • There is a potential risk of fights occurring between dogs that may result in injury or, in extreme cases, death.
    • There is a potential risk for disease transmission that may result in illness and, in extreme cases, death.

    ● All dogs will be screened prior to entering the facility. Layke’s Country Kennels reserves the right to deny service to any dog determined to have potential behavioral or health issues, including illness and exposure to diseases.

  • Spay/Neutered/Heat:

    ● Dogs are not required to be spayed or neutered, but it is recommended. If your dog demonstrates undesired behavior, we may ask that they be spayed/neutered prior to their next visit or will not be accepted back.

    ● We accept dogs that are in heat but require you to notify us of the date of the first bleed so we can ensure the privacy the dog needs. Dogs in heat cycles will not be allowed to engage in social play within 30 days of their first bleed but will be let out in a private play area.

Dogs that are intact or in an active heat cycle will be required to reserve their own private suite for the safety of your dog as well as the others staying. If there are multiple, each will require its own private suite.

  • Aggressive Behavior:

    ● Dogs determined by Layke’s Country Kennels to be a threat to kennel staff, themselves, or other dogs will not be allowed to stay at Layke’s Country Kennels. In the event that a dog is determined to be aggressive, owners may be asked to pick up their dog earlier than the previously scheduled pick-up date.

    ● Aggressive dogs will not be accepted back at Layke’s Country Kennels unless proof of professional training is provided and it is determined safe by Layke’s Country Kennels staff.
